Premise: Cedric the Entertainer stars in this spinoff of popular TV Land sitcom ``Hot in Cleveland,'' as Boyce ``The Voice'' Ballentine, a former R&B superstar who has become a minister. When he gets the calling to go from soul singer to soul saver, he moves from Las Vegas to St. Louis with his wife and daughter to take over preaching duties at his father's church. His family members aren't thrilled with the lifestyle change and they have to adjust from the superstar life they had in Sin City to a humble new life in the Midwest. Beginning with the show's second season, episodes end with a two-minute stand-up comedy routine by Cedric, which relates to the episode's topic.
Boyce is blamed for the garbage strike and it determined to end it with or without Mayor Saxby; Alicia has a surprising offer for Stamps; Barton is stretched thin between the church and the campaign.
Boyce must convince a reluctant Dr. Zagelman to withdraw from the mayoral race and endorse him instead; Barton helps Stamps make a life-changing decision; Lolli and Alicia take an enlightening shopping trip.
