Genre: Documentary, Medical
Premise: ``NY ER,'' a spinoff of the ABC documentary show ``NY Med,'' takes cameras inside the always hectic emergency rooms in New York City, with a focus on the medical staffs and patients of Columbia and Weill Cornell medical centers, the crown jewels of the prestigious New York-Presbyterian Hospital. While practicing cutting-edge medicine, the ER staffs interact with strong-willed patients and with one another -- people they see more than their own families. Talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz -- an attending surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center -- introduces each scene.
