Field officers of the Michigan Humane Society respond to calls reporting animals in distress. The investigators at the nonprofit agency handle more than 4,000 cases annually, with the crimes relating to everything from dog-fighting, pets exposed to the elements and animal neglect. The program also includes updates on previous perpetrators and their animal victims.
